Located in Bedford, Oakwood, Valley View, and Walton Hills. Bounded by Richmond Rd., Egbert Rd. , Dunham Rd. and Canal Rd. There are over 2200 acres and miles of groomed trails plus a loop around the rim of a beautiful 200-foot deep gorge that has a more primitive trail. There is also a primitive trail heading down the valley toward the Brecksville Reservation and across Canal Rd. onto the Towpath Trail. The loop around the gorge takes about two hours. One side is groomed and the other primitive with Tinkers Creek (river) to cross at either end. This is not to be crossed after a rainstorm. A guide is suggested.

Jacks Place Trailhead is located on Old Button Rd. at Dunham and Tinkers Creek Rd. just beyond the Park Maintenance Area. Dunham Rd. proceeds north off of Canal Rd. There is a small corral, picnic tables and a mounting block. Toilets a short walk away . the Hemlock Creek Picnic Area.

Joeys Place Trailhead is located on Old Broadway. If coming from Chagrin, take the Hawthorne Parkway to Broadway. When you reach Broadway Ave. , you will see Old Broadway Rd. off to your left. Joeys Place is the first lot on the left a little ways up Old Broadway. It is marked Horse Trailer Parking. If coming from Bedford Reservation, take Egbert Rd. to the park road that runs into Broadway. You will see Old Broadway diagonally across the road.

There are 3470 acres and many miles of trails in this park

You can begin this trail from the Brecksville Stables or from the Station Road Bridge Trail Head (CVNP). Starting at the Stables, there are essentially 4 loops that can be ridden. The shortest taking approximately 20 minutes and the longest taking 2 hours. Riding down to the Station Road Bridge Trail Head adds another 1/2 hour on the time. This well maintained trail takes you through high country, across a beautiful meadow, down steep ravines, across a multitude of stream, past several waterfalls and across Chippewa Creek. There are many chances of watering your horse in all areas. There are many areas suitable for cantering. Deer are usually observed.

 

 Behind the stables, you can access the Valley trail that takes you 10 miles south through the National Park to the Wetmore Bridle Trails.

 From the Station Rd Bridge Trail Head, you can ride north along the canal to the Frazee House. At this point the trail heads for the hills and you eventually reach the Bedford Metro Park. Add another 2 hours one way.

A short distance from the stables you can pick up the Valley Parkway Trail and head toward the western Metro Parks eventually ending up in Rocky River Metro Park.

 

Directions to Brecksville Stables: Take I 77 to Rt 82. Turn East and proceed to Rte. 21. Turn Right and go up the hill past Sleepy Hollow Golf Course and and turn left onto the Parkway. Turn Right onto Meadows Lane and turn Right into the stable parking area.

 

From the East, take Route 82 and cross the bridge over the Cuyahoga River. Turn Left onto River View Rd.  At the bottom of the hill turn left to go to Station Rd Bridge Parking lot or turn Right to go to the Brecksville Stables.  Turn left, second opportunity, and go up a large hill. Turn left on Meadows Lane and right into the stables parking area.
