Trail description: Limestone wide path on Towpath

Length of trail: About 25 miles going from Summit County towards Tuscarawas County

 

Trailhead parking description: Several parking areas for horse trailers along route

Trailhead human facilities: Portable toilets

 

Unique /scenic trail features: Historical route of Ohio-to-Erie Canal

 

Trail hazards:  Bicyclists!  Road crossings.

 

Trail rating:   X     Easy – Level or gently sloping terrain; consistent groomed surface; wide trail surface; shallow or no water crossings

 

Comments: Horses are not permitted on section of trail in Massillon.  Just north of Massillon you can pick up the “leg” of another trail going towards Dalton.
